Bible Doctrines Survey II
                                         Prepared by Randy Whitman and Jairos Banda;
                                             Modified by Sandwell Zgambo and Justin Siame.

                                          Study Section 1: Existence of God the Father.

                        Many people deny the existence of God. The Bible in Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool says, There is
                        no God.” A person who denies the existence of God is blinded to the obvious evidence that
                        He exists – the creation. The Bible also says that the universe declares God’s creative hand
                        and His existence (Rom. 1). The heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1)! But God did
                        not leave us to just observe what He has made.

               He broke through time and spoke to us through the prophets of the Bible, and finally through coming to
               earth to reveal who God is in the person of Jesus Christ. God’s Word tells us who God is. It also tells us
               that we can have a relationship with Him through His Son. Today, we are going to study proofs for the
               existence of God. Let’s get started…

               1.2 Objectives.

                       1. Students should be able to describe the existence of God.

                       2. Students should be able to identify and describe the three proofs of God’s existence, namely;

                          a. man’s inner sense of God.
                             b. the evidence in Scripture and nature.
                             c. and the traditional proofs for the existence of God.

               1.3 Proofs that Show that God Exists.

                       Humanity’s Inner Sense of God.

                       In Romans 1:18-21, apostle Paul says, “ For God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all
                                                          18
                       godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the
               truth, since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to
                     19
               them. For his invisible attributes, that is, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen
                     20
               since the creation of the world, being understood through what he has made. As a result, people are
               without excuse. For though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or show gratitude. Instead,
                              21
               their thinking became worthless, and their senseless hearts were darkened” (CSB).

               The passage above is the revelation of God’s wrath toward everyone who lived in the world as if there
               was no God and a standard for right living. What is Wrath? The Greek word for wrath is orge and refers
               to a settled, determined indignation, not to the momentary, emotional, and often uncontrolled anger
               (thumos) to which human beings are prone. To those on whom God’s wrath was declared had no excuse
