o "To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in
safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed..." - Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread) 5:48
              • The Qur'an is the final revelation from Allah.
              • Muslims proclaim the Qur'an is without error of any kind, having at its source the perfect mind of God.
o "Do they not ponder on the Qur'an? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found
therein much discrepancy." - An-Nisa' (The Women) 4:82
o "(It is) a Qur'an in Arabic, without any crookedness (therein): in order that they may guard against evil." -
                         Az-Zumar Troops) 39:28
o "Praise be to Allah, Who hath sent to His Servant the Book, and hath allowed therein no crookedness." - Al-
                         Kahf (The Cave) 18:1
              • Most Muslims are not open to examining the Qur'an's contents critically.
o Examples of forbidden questions (These questions are seen as dishonoring God and his prophet, and
must not be asked among believers.):
 What pre-Qur'anic sources influenced Muhammad?
 Since the Qur'an recognizes the full inspiration of the Bible, why are there serious discrepancies
between what it says and what Muhammad teaches?
 How did the Qur'an come to be in the form in which we find it today?

          Additional Claims About the Qur'an
              • The Qur'an is an exact word-for-word copy of God's final revelation, words inscribed on tablets that have always
                  existed in heaven.
                     o "Nay, this is a glorious Qur'an, (inscribed) in a tablet preserved." - Al-Barooj (Constellations) 85:21-22
o "We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). And verily, it
is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom." -Az-Zukhruf (Ornaments of
                         Gold) 43:3-4
              • Allah spoke everything to Muhammad; nothing came from his own thinking.
              • The words of Allah were perfectly preserved and collected before the prophet's death. This claim is refuted by
Islamic tradition in a number of hadiths.
              • The words of Allah were gathered without error or omission into a single, unadulterated form after Muhammad's
                  death.3
              • The Qur'an today is exactly the same as it was when it was first
o presented to the world almost fourteen centuries ago, without change or corruption.
o "Say: 'Shall I seek for a judge other than Allah? - when He it is
 Who hath sent unto you the Book, explained in detail.' They know full well, to whom We have
given the Book, that it hath been sent down from thy Lord in truth. Never be then of those who
doubt. The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice. None can change His
words, for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all." - Al-Anaam (Cattle) 6:114-115 (emphasis
                                added)
o "We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption)." - Al-
                         Hijr (Stoneland) 15:9 (emphasis added)
              • If there are discrepancies between the Qur'an and the Bible, it's the fault of Jews and Christians who perverted the
truth they originally received. To claim that anyone can change the words of God is contradictory to Surahs 10:64
and 6:34. For a critical examination of these claims, see Appendix C: Has the Bible Been Corrupted?
o "But on account of [the Jews] breaking their covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hard; they
altered the words from their places and they neglected a portion of what they were reminded of; and
                         you shall always discover treachery in them excepting a few of them; so pardon them and turn away;
surely Allah loves those who do good (to others). And with those who say, We are Christians, We made a
covenant, but they forgot a good portion of what they were reminded of, therefore We excited among
