 Identify things that you assume every church includes in their worship
                                      service.

                                      Who takes the offering?

                                      When is the offering taken?
                                      How long is the sermon; how many songs do you sing; do you have a choir;
how are the children involved, do you ever pray for a specific person in the
middle of your service – especially when ill or in need of healing, etc.

 What is the strangest thing you have ever seen or heard that someone did in a
                               worship service?

1 Timothy 2:1-7. A Call to Depend Upon God.
1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be
made for all people — 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live
peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God
our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the
truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man
Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been
witnessed to at the proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and
an apostle—I am telling the truth; I am not lying—and a true and faithful teacher of
                       the Gentiles.

The desire of God is that all people will be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth (v. 5-
                6)
v5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, v6 who
gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
God died for all men’s sin (all people).

Paul affirms that Christ paid the price with His own precious blood (I Peter 1:18-19) for the sins of
every person who has lived or every will live --- all mankind. John put it this way: “For he (Christ) is
the propitiation (satisfaction) for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.”
Romans 5:6 says, “Christ died for the ungodly.” Further in verse 10 he adds, “If, when we were God’s
enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been
reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”

Praise God, He died and paid the penalty for every man’s sin. But only those who receive this special
gift become possessors of eternal life.

God chose us to spread the Gospel
Although God is all-powerful and all-knowing, He has chosen to let us help Him change the world.
How this works is a mystery to us because of our limited understanding, but it is true, nonetheless.
Where does sharing the truth of the Gospel begin? The place to start planning
evangelism strategies is not on the street – but the process begins in our prayer times
where we are dependent upon God.
