spent entire days in prayer. They frequently threw up ‘ejaculatory’ prayers as occasion demanded. Obviously,
the goal was to ‘pray without ceasing’ (1 Thess. 5:17).” (E. Glenn Hinson, “Puritan Spirituality” in Protestant
            Spiritual Traditions, pp. 172-173)

            D. “With Christ at the center of your life you can help your child begin to focus his life on Christ. A spiritually
healthy home has a God-consciousness about it – that is, every member is aware that Christ is present minute
by minute and involved in what the family is doing. You can foster God-consciousness by praying and praising
God together throughout the day, not just at mealtimes or bedtime. Talk with your child about the beauty of
God’s creation as you drive through the country. When you see people who are needy, talk about the ways you
can help them just as Jesus helped others. In these ways you will help your child see that loving Christ is more
than just something you do on Sunday.” (Neil Anderson and Steve Russo, The Seduction of Our Children, p. 187.

            IV. Practical Tips
               A. Think of the members of the Trinity as ever present, of yourself as never alone.
               B. Think of every action as something not only done for God, but with God.
               C. Verbalize the truth. Speak to Jesus as if He really is with you in the car, in the kitchen, on the job.
               D. Express your pleasure to the members of the Godhead that they are with you. Tell them that you enjoy
               them and love them.

                                   What Makes Christian Ethics Unique

            The Biblical ground for Ethics

We have already seen that the Character and the will of God is the basis of Biblical Ethics. Therefore, Biblical
ground for ethics is nature of God himself. If we want to discover the nature of goodness, the Bible directs us to
the person of God himself. He alone is good (Mk. 10:18), and it is his will that expresses ‘what is good and
acceptable and perfect’ (Rom. 12:2). Out in the Sinai desert, Yahweh promised Moses ‘I will make all my
goodness pass before you’ (Ex. 33:19), and the promise was honored with a special revelation of the Lord’s
character (Ex. 34:6.). Unlike any other moral teacher, God is utterly consistent. What he wills, he is.
