not right! Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? Does a fig tree
produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring.
Pray that the sweet refreshing waters of the Holy Spirit would gush from your mouth. May your mouth
be the giver of hope and encouragement. May the praises of our King rise among us. Let them rise, oh o
oh let them rise. Next I want to encourage you to yield your eyes and ears to our Lord. Let him that hath
ears to hear and eyes to see hear and see what the Lord hath to say. Remember it is the Lord who opens
the eyes of our understanding. (Ephesians 1:18) Again, pray the supreme prayer of the learner. Psalm
119:18, Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Oh, that God would
give us spiritual wisdom like those from Issachar that understood the times and knew what Israel should
do. (I Chronicles 12:32)
Don’t stop there are more members and emotions to present to God. Next I recommend that you yield
your arms and hands along with your legs and feet. God longs to help your feet to cross the path of
those in need with divine interventions. (See Acts 8:26-38) There is nothing more thrilling than to
encounter those whom the Holy Spirit has been drawing to the Son and we get the privilege of leading
them to a saving faith in Him. There are times when just a smile and embrace will lift a heavy heart. But
if we are too busy looking at the screen of our phone, we might miss our divine encounters. Yes, I know
that we can connect with our phones but be careful you do not miss the person across the room from
you because you are so busy texting.
Next I would encourage you to allow our Lord to break your heart for the things that breaks His heart.
That we would learn to love him with all our heart, with all our soul, and all of our mind which is the first
and greatest command, and that we would also love our neighbor as our self. (Matthew 23:37-39) As we
learn to love like Jesus loved this will compel ever emotion in our body to be subject to the Holy Spirits
promptings. For an introverted person this may push us way out of our comfort zone because we man
need to speak words of love. This may cause the most extroverted person to be more sensitive towards
our expressions. Philippians 1:9-10 explains to us what really mattered to Paul. I pray that your love will
overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want
you to understand what really matters. What really matters? That the overflow of the Holy Spirit would
become so evident that People would see our love. This is the greatest tool that God has given us to
evangelize the world. (See John 13:34-35)
As we go through this process of yielding our members to the control and power of the Holy Spirit it will
cause us to realize the truths in John 15:5 to a fuller extent. It will help us to realize that the vine wants
to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit in all aspects of our walk with him. Or as John 7:38-39 speaks of the
overflow of the Holy Spirit working in our lives that will be like rivers of fresh water overflowing out of
