2.1 Connect
In introducing this section, I want to take you through a little written exercise to help you see
what developing a love relationship with God means to you. What comes to your mind when
you read in its context Jeremiah 33:3 which says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and
show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not”?

of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it?

2.2 Objectives
1. The student should be able to clearly explain why God longs to have a love relationship with us
and why.
2. The student should be able to explain the progression of prayer and how it leads to greater
obedience, which leads to greater intimacy all for His glory.
3. The student should be able to clearly teach on how Jesus was able to do all that He did and explain
His intimate relationship with the Father.
4. The student should be able to identify what the primary calling of Jesus is on your life at the end of
this lesson.
5. The student should be able to explain what taking up His yoke means. This is vital to come to a God
centered theology of prayer!
2.3 Exploring a Love Relationship with God
Again, I want to take you back to my opening thoughts when I quoted James 4:3. When
you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend
what you get on your pleasures. The way you answered the above questions will reveal a
lot about your heart’s desire. Matthew 15:8-9 says, These people show honor to me with
words, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is worthless. The things they
