ADORE and bless thee, O most gentle Lord Jesus, as
thou hangest on the tree of the cross, and pourest out
thy roseate Blood in expiation of the sins of the
world. I accuse myself now with sincere contrition of
heart of the manifold insults and infidelities whereby I
have grieved thee. O good Jesus, I confess that by reason
of my vile and shameful sins I am the cause of thy
passion and death, and that in thy passion my sins were
more grievous to thee than the buffetings and the stripes
of the rude soldiers. To thee, therefore, I confess and
acknowledge my malice and my iniquity, and I prostrate
myself before thy cross, in the spirit of humiliation,
imploring thy forgiveness. I cast all my iniquities and my

sins into the depths of thy mercy and clemency, and into
those bleeding wounds which thou didst receive for my
salvation; beseeching thee that thou wouldst so wash
them away and efface them with thy most precious Blood
and the all cleansing water from thy sacred Side, that
thou mayest remember them no more forever. In perfect
expiation and satisfaction for all the sins which I have
committed by thought, desire, and the perverse affections
of my heart, I offer to thine eternal Father thy immaculate
Heart with all the treasures it contains. And for all the
vain and hurtful words my lips have spoken, do thou set
forth before him all the words which issued from thy
most sacred mouth. And for all the sinful deeds which
my hands have done, show him thy pierced Hands, and
