failed through malice, or wickedness, or carelessness,
from the treasures of that mighty love, the fullness of
which rests on him who now sitteth at thy right hand,
bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh. For it is through
him, in the power of the Holy Ghost, in union with his
princely compassion, humility, and reverence, and in the
measure of the power thou hast given me; it is through
him that I pour forth before thee my lamentation and my
complaint, by reason of my exceeding misery and grief
for having so often offended thy divine munificent
goodness in thought, or word, and in deed. I offer and set
forth before thee now, in satisfaction for all my
negligences and for the blotting out of all my iniquities,
that surpassing prayer of thy most beloved Son, that

from him his sweat of blood, so devout by the purity and

SWEETEST Jesus, who in thy loving desire for
our salvation hast instituted the Sacrament of
confession for the consolation of all sinners, that
by its virtue we might be cleansed from all our iniquities,
and recover the grace we have lost; behold I, a most
wretched sinner, who have offended thee again by many
sins, and defiled my soul with many stains, now come
back once more to thee; resolving to receive this most
munificent sacrament with most steadfast hope and
