Transportation Roundtable
The Honourable Marc Garneau, Federal Minister of Transport, was at our
Cascadia terminal recently to make a marine safety announcement. Kyle
Jeworski had an opportunity to meet the Minister and participate in a
roundtable discussion on the current state of transportation in Canada and
what improvements need to be implemented in our transport sector to support
agriculture and other industries that rely on Canada’s rail infrastructure.

We were recently presented with a Blue Circle Award in Vancouver, BC
recognizing our commitment to sustainability at our port facilities. This involves
voluntary efforts on our part to conserve energy and reduce air emissions
through the Port of Vancouver’s EcoAction Program and Energy Action Initiative.
“We have set out a vision to be the world’s most sustainable port – an
achievement we cannot reach alone without the dedication to environmental
leadership demonstrated by our industry partners,” said Robin Silvester,
president and chief executive officer at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority. “We
are delighted to recognize our recipients with a Blue Circle Award this year for
their efforts above and beyond regulatory requirements to conserve energy and
reduce air emissions”. Christina Proseilo, Senior Project Manager,
accepting the award.
Our staff at Souris recently hosted a customer event and
BBQ. Nearly 70 growers were in attendance and it was a great
opportunity to interact with customers and talk about their
upcoming business needs.
