”Now you’re getting warm,” the clerk decided;
      “With all the food for thought I’ve provided,
      You should be able to cook up something.”
      “Yes, I can,” said she, “but it’s a dumb thing.”

                           “Oh, my burning issue has me inflamed—
                           And it’s raging out of control, untamed!”
                           Alarmed Sophia loudly had to shout:
                           “Call the fire department to put it out!”

      Said the clerk: “It’s gone; too bad you’re all wet,
      But don’t let that big downpour make you fret:
      When you have a brainstorm, keep it going—
      You must have many ideas flowing!”

                            “If only one ran wild in the corral,”
                            Said she, “it would do more for my morale:
                            Galloping around me are too many,
                            And I can’t manage to lasso any.”

      “You’ve got to organize your thoughts,” said he.
      “Have you a good head for figures–like me?
      Please strap on this accountant’s green eyeshade;
      I can tell you it’s often been my aid.”

                              “Miss, you’ve got to cover all the bases
                              When you’re fielding questions in tight places.
                              Don’t let them get past you or drop the ball—
                              No matter if it means you’ll hit the wall!”

      Then she said, “I’ve kicked it around enough!
      I hate to give up when the game gets rough,
      But what occurs to me is the image
      Of a fumble at the line of scrimmage.”
