Some things we do with
Regularity: HALFWIT 1: Oh, yes, that is so.

Eating and sleeping
And breathing our breath; HALFWIT 2: I’m sure we all know.

Others we do with
Rather more rarity: HALFWIT 3: Now what does he mean?

Hunting a tiger
To do it to death, HALFWIT 1: Oh, that I have seen!

Building a shelter
In rainy weather, HALFWIT 2: Just last November.

Driving out strangers
Who act up and fight; HALFWIT 3: Him we remember!

Without deciding,
We act together, HALFWIT 1: We must say that’s true.

Nobody doubts what
He’s doing is right. HALFWIT 2: No, never! Have you?

But those things don’t need
Imagination, HALFWIT 3: Eh?

Or the slightest bit
Of concentration; HALFWIT 1: Uh.

Immediate need
Is motivation, HALFWIT 2: Oh?

Whatever’s at hand
Lends inspiration. HALFWIT 3: Ah!

Now I offer you
My fondest greeting: HALFWIT 1: Oh, hello, hello.

I’ve appealed to your
Curiosity, HALFWIT 2: Tell us what you know.
