you were fired from GE&E because you were a cheat and a liar. I
suppose you expected the other party to your alleged contract to
have done all the dirty work for you, clearing your path to the top
of the heap. But you mistook the real power relationship: the
Prince of Darkness works for no one. You people just can’t stand
knowing that you are doing nasty things—or plan to do them, or
even just think about them—so you blame an external agent for
exploiting your weaknesses and tricking you into it, instead. Let
us examine the possibilities and see who will be going to Hell.”
Then I projected this table into his meandering mind:
“Observe, Cado: given the qualifications for damnation, it
doesn’t matter if you make a deal with God or the Devil. As seen
in the first and seventh cases, it is wishful thinking that leads
people to think they will escape punishment for their misdeeds.
