Beyond the sauce and seasoning.
So Walter didn’t need to guess:
That sticky slimy starchy mess
Had to be served in a format
Other than flat as a doormat.
Noodles twisted, pinched and fluted;
Angles curved and colors muted;
Ribbons, spirals, corkscrews and tubes;
Twirled in nests and jammed into cubes.
Wheels, shells, lumps and rings in bags packed;
Wide lasagna squared off and stacked;
Narrow noodles hung in a loop;
All the letters in alphabet soup.
