the brain. Historically such people have self-selected into monastic
orders or hermetic environments. But today those options are socially
unacceptable, and many of these potential seekers of TE, or temporal
euphoria, end up in business and the professions, prosperous but
unhappy. And some of them will seek membership in Beige, eluding
identification as hopeless cases. As I said, they are addicts and will
attempt to spend several hours a day, seven days a week at the club.
That would seriously eat into your profits; should it occur then it is
time, regardless of the social standing of the individual, to invoke the
clause in the signed agreement terminating membership. This will
require tact, and the organization stands ready to assist you when and
if it happens at your club. Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like another
cup of coffee myself!”
