Physical therapy—tough and precise—
Stopped once we followed his doctor’s advice:
“When his confinement is too much to bear,
Then you will know that he needs no more care.”
Too much for him? It was too much for us!
Then came the day we could end all the fuss:
Uncle at lunch said because he felt great,
He would go walking before it got late.
Off he went merrily whistling a tune
No one had whistled in many a moon,
Wearing some clothing that I let him choose—
Trousers and shirt and an old pair of shoes.
