Once upon a time, in the land of Baublestein, its ruler, King
Conundra the Third, confronted a crisis. His wife, the queen, had
fretted away to an early grave. His only child was a daughter: he knew
his dynasty was threatened. What King Conundra needed was a
consort for Princess Nollimay, someone to perpetuate the royal line.
She had arrived at young womanhood and was starting to fret, an
unfortunate legacy from her mother.
