Introduction
For information concerning these works, the reader is
commended to the Introduction and Appendix of The Irony
Board (https://www.unclejg.net/the-irony-board), by the
present author. Those remarks, prepared in 1984 for a
collection of similar material, are equally relevant to the
present volume.
The selections here, written in the intervening decades,
have not appeared elsewhere. Their content, as mentioned
above, permits arranging them in the same broad categories
as in The Irony Board. If any difference in that regard is
apparent in these later epigrams, it might be a greater
emphasis on survival and termination.
