By the rest of us,
Bring out the worst
In the best of us.
The pedagogy of “teach to the test”
Reflects a fundamental confusion;
Exploration and doubt cannot be stressed
When the rule is “think from the conclusion.”
If you’ve entrusted deletion
Of your encrusted accretion
Of metadata’s odd factoids
To powers in the abstract voids,
Then to catch a thief you’ve set one
Who takes its place: it won’t get done.
