back across the harbour, carrying a paper parcel from the butcher’s. I peered at it as he climbed on board. It looked suspiciously shaped like a lamb leg, but I didn’t say anything. Maybe Fabien would just think it was a bag of potatoes.
We set off back to the island on the newly patched-up boat. I sat by the hole with my teacup, ready to start bailing, but Lady Agatha managed to make it back to the island without any more leaks. Dad patted the steering wheel proudly as we climbed out, and I went to test the camera properly.
I spotted Sunshine at the edge of the woods looking at the sand anxiously, and zoomed the lens in on her. She was a particularly beautiful donkey, and her eyes sparkled on the camera screen. I kept the lens focused on her as I ran over and climbed on to her back.
“What are you doing?” asked Kai.
“I’m going to record a tour of the island on donkey-back!” I said.
I panned the camera around. Further down the beach, Mum and her yoga guests were wobbling on one leg. I zoomed in on them and then back
