Kids in ancient Rome would have known who the emperor was, especially if they had a reputation for being FEARSOME or unpredictable.
Caligula began his reign in AD 37 in a positive way, but after an unidentified illness he really went off the rails.
For a start, he promised to make his favourite horse, Incitatus, a consul – one
of the most important political officials in ancient Rome. While that was a bit odd, on another occasion he ordered his guards to throw an entire section of the audience at a games into the arena to be EaTeN by wild beasts because there were no prisoners to be used and he was BoReD.
It was also claimed he declared war on the sea. Which is a bit like trying to punch the sky or have an argument with OuTeR SpAcE.
Right! That's it! If you make my knees wet one more time, you are FOR it! And you're next, sand, so you can stop giggling.
