If you think that,s A LOT of gods, think again! People from throughout the Roman Empire worshipped HUNDREDS of different gods and goddesses. They were usually depicted in human form, but much larger.
I'm going to have to send these trousers back. They're size XL, but I need an XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL.
Should've gone to Gods 'R' Us, mate.
As you would expect, there were gods who protected the home, gods of healing, gods of farming, gods of jelly beans, gods of baseball caps . . . and errr, gods of making stuff up.

There were also many minor gods and goddesses, some whom weren’t very glamorous. Verminus was the protector of cattle, Runcina was goddess of weeding (and lawn mowing!), and Stercutus was the god of faeces (yup, the god of PoO), whose job was to teach people about manure spreading. Hopefully not with a personal demonstration.
