Add the flour to the melted butter and stir to make a smooth paste. Then slowly add the milk, stock and salt. Bring to the boil, stirring nonstop until the mixture is thick and glossy and there are no lumps.
Ask your grown-up to pour your mixture over the chicken. Now you can cover your pie with your pastry top. Pinch the top and sides of the pie together with your thumbs – this
will keep in all the yummy flavours!
Use a fork to prick a few holes in the top and then paint the top with the
beaten egg. Cook for 1 hour, or until the pie is golden brown.
