Before you start, wash and dry your jar or fish bowl well to make sure it is shiny and clean.
Put about 2 cm of pea gravel in the bottom of your jar or bowl. Add about 2 cm of activated charcoal on top. Then add
3-4 cm of soil.
Use your teaspoon to dig a tiny hole in the soil and place your first plant carefully into it. Make sure its leaves don’t touch the walls of the jar or bowl or stick out the top.
Gently press down the soil around your plant, so it’s snug and cosy in its new home.
Continue planting until your jar or fish bowl is full, taking care to leave some space around each plant to let it grow.
When you’ve finished, water your plants, but not too much. If you like, add some extra toy fairies or animals, shells or twigs.
Place your terrific terrarium in bright (but not direct) sunlight . . . and enjoy the wonderful world you’ve made!
