activism The process of campaigning publicly or working for an organisation to bring about social or political change.
agriculture Farming crops or animals.
ambassador Someone who represents or works to spread the ideas of an organisation or activity.
ancestral lands Land on which a group of people have lived for generations over many years.
Asperger syndrome A condition in which the person affected experiences the world differently from other people. A person with Asperger syndrome may have a very strong interest in a particular subject and will often have difficulty relating to other people.
atmosphere The layer of air or gases around the Earth or another planet.
biodiversity The variety of plant or animal life in a particular place.
business A company that buys or sells products or services.
campaign A planned set of actions aimed at achieving a goal, often social or political change.
climate change Changes in the Earth’s climate, especially rises in temperature, caused by an increase in carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere due to the use of fossil fuels. Sometimes called global warming.
climate justice The idea of climate change as a human rights issue
as well as an environmental one, understanding that the people who are least responsible for climate change are those who suffer worst from its effects.
committee A group of people who meet to make plans or decisions for a larger group or organisation.
community A group of people living in the same place or who are similar in some way.
