CHAPTER TWENTY
I
n the month of June 2024, when my beautiful granddaughter got
married, she moved out, and I moved in with my daughter and her
family. The reason was loneliness. I was also sluggish and a little
bit sad. I had reached my 88th birthday and needed some company. I
thought that since my daughter works from home, I would be company
for her, and while I still have all my faculties, I could be of a little help.
So, as I get up in the mornings, I head downstairs to the gym in the
basement, and to start my day, I put in an hour of exercise and stretches
to keep my body flexible. I experience so much fresher air there than
anywhere else that I have been.
The day I went to the doctor for a pain in my shoulder, this man stood
about six feet from me and asked where it hurt. I tried lifting my hand,
but couldn’t. So, he decided that I have a tendinitis and I need to do
physio—without any examination whatsoever. I haven’t gone back to
him since. With the love of my family, thanks be to GOD, I am feeling
much better now.
Whitby is nice and quiet with lots of shopping areas. Name it and you
can find it there. In the evenings, after my daughter finishes working,
we would go for very long walks. We would walk to places she didn’t
even know were there. I enjoy those times with her.
