DAY 10: THE LORD IS MY POTTER
“But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay,
and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your
hand.” Isaiah 64:8
“I never heard her complain until the very end,” said Tessie,
Belle’s sister, when my friend passed away.
In 2019, after Belle’s cancer metastasized to her lungs, she
went back home to the Philippines to be with her family
while doing her treatments.
We exchanged notes on how to win the war with “c.” We
prayed for each other. She agreed that this was the Lord’s
battle. She fully trusted God as her Healer. She remembered
telling God the first time she had it that she would be His
“project” that would give a living testimony of His
goodness. She believed that God is our Potter and we are His
clay. And that the Potter will mold the clay to create a
beautiful masterpiece that could give honor and glory to
Him.
Belle wrote to me once: “Being with Christ does not mean
to have everyday happiness. Of course, there are loads to
carry. But trials and problems come your way; consider it a
complete joy. They are God’s blessings which bring
steadfastness, and as a good soldier of Christ, you have to
face the hardships with courage from God, who strengthens
you.”
Belle did not give up. She fought hard until the year 2022,
when she breathed her last.
