DAY 9: THE LORD IS MY ROCK

             “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust…”
                                   Psalm 18:2

                        Greva Garcia Testimony (cont.)

In 2009, we finally immigrated to Canada with hopes for a
new start and a new life. Not long after, I received news that
my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was
dying. Flying back to the Philippines, I got the news that she
had already passed away. The good news, however, was that
my mother was in God’s loving and tender hand, free from
pain. God’s faithfulness during my first battle with cancer
has been an instrument in moving her to fully place her faith
            in Jesus Christ.
Back from that trip, I was once again met by new test results
that showed a recurrence of ovarian cancer. Strangely, a
growing feeling of excitement with the Lord in this battle
occurred again. On this “one-on-one” with the Lord, I
realized that no one could fully comprehend my pain except
the Lord, who created me and knows me well. I have to face
my giants again. But I know no giants are too big if God is
my God. Psalm 73:26 says, “My flesh and heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
God is victorious over death, strengthens the weak, brings
healing, and comforts the weary. I am one of many
