Unless you’re posting it on LinkedIn, your social media
profile doesn’t need to be as polished as your resume.
However,it must remain professional.
You should avoid posting anything that might turn off
potential employers or hiring managers. Racist, sexist,
or otherwise discriminatory comments areprohibited,as
are references to drugs or alcohol,lewd posts or photos,
negative comments about previous employers, and
negative comments about current or former employers.
A good rule of thumb to follow here is that if you need
clarification before posting something, you shouldn’t.

any content that should be removed. Also, remember to
go way,way back. Many of us havekept the same social
media profiles for years, and you probably don’t want
prospective employers to think of you in the same way
that yourhigh school classmates did. Considerthe posts

displayed on your profile and influence how other people
perceive you. Ensure that any content you do not want
discovered is removed, untagged, or hidden from view.
