RECLAIM YOUR DIGITAL GOLD

                          Chapter Summary

In the digital age, the concept of privacy has all but
vanished. According to the information provided in this
chapter, everything is tracked online based on our search,
sites we visit, and purchases we make.

Data is such a valuable commodity that we unknowingly
give it away, especially when advertisers want to target
          their ideal client — you!

We leave a digital footprint almost everywhere we go
online, and in order to access online platforms and
services, we give up some of our rights to EULAs and
          terms and conditions.

Cookies (tracking codes) are stored on your computer
or device by these service providers and platforms
to remember your browsing experience and provide
you with quick access to their site when you return.
Advertisers, on the other hand, are sometimes tapping
into some of these saved cookies to present you with
their recommended purchase based on your recent
          search or interest.

As you can see, we live in a time when privacy is under
constant assault. Although the Privacy Act and policies
to protect our privacy remain in place, they are constantly
          challenged and exploited.
The good news is that you can regain control and protect
your data by modifying your computer and device
