Privacy – What’s that?

of your HTML5 (Hypertext Markup Language version
               5) canvas.

            7. Cross-device tracking, also known as deterministic
or probabilistic tracking, compares the websites you
visit across all of your devices.

            8. The click-through rate (CTR) is the number of times an
online user clicks on and visits a piece of information
that was suggested or advertised to them. Websites
use the metric to determine either their content plans
               or the advertiser opportunities available.
            9. Last but not least, Federated Learning of Cohorts
(FLoC) is a cutting-edge Internet monitoring
technology that eliminates the practice of identifying
and following online users individually. Instead,
they are assigned to a group of other Internet users
with similar interests, and this group is collectively
tracked. FLoCs made headlines in 2022 when Google
announced that it would be using FLoCs to phase out
its use of third-party cookies (Burgess, 2022). This
was done to protect users’ online privacy, which is a
               concern caused by website tracking.

HOW TO AVOID BEING MONITORED WHILE
            ONLINE

Check that your privacy settings are the same across all
of your devices. The first step in protecting your online
privacy is to adjust your privacy settings on all of these
            common devices.
