#6 FUTURE PROJECTIONS

            Venture  capital  funds  will  want  to  see  detailed  breakdowns  of
            your  costs  and  profits  from  your  business’s  years  to  date  and
            detailed  projections  of  what  you  can  reasonably  expect  your
            finances to look like in future years. 1
               Use the specifics you put together for your financial plan to
            project in detail exactly how much growth you can reasonably
            expect to see based on your costs, revenue, and ROI details in
            combination with your plans for spending investment capital.
               The  result  should  be  a  solid  plan  for  turning  investment
            capital—or any other kind of capital you receive, such as loans,
            credit  lines,  and  your  own  growing  revenue—into  larger  and
            larger profits each year.
               You  may  or  may  not  choose  to  pursue  investors  for  your
            business. But either way, you can learn a lot about streamlining
            your business for growth and how innovation can help you to
            grow  by  answering  the  questions  investors  ask  when  consid-
            ering whether to invest in a business.
