SESSION 11

where He will prune, cut off, prick out, burn, and do all that is required

to make us fruitful gardens that emit the intoxicating fragrance of Jesus.

Is this not what we wish for? Is this not what the world needs to see and

experience? The incarnate Jesus who lives on the inside of His people,
permeating from within their innermost beings, like a fountain

springing up from the pure source of His indwelling Spirit. Indeed, it

          is!

Furthermore, it is the place where the Shulamite now finds herself. This

beloved spouse of His was not only bearing abundant fruit of the Holy
Spirit—she was now cascading forth resurrection life from the fountain

          within her.

The Shulamite now displays the beauty and fragrance of Christ. She

has become a praise of His glory and is overflowing with His fullness.

Holy Spirit has quarried deep within this maiden’s heart, and as a result,
she holds within her a cavernous well holding deposits of living water.

In verse 16 of Song of Songs from the Amplified Bible (paraphrase),
she says, You have called me a garden.

As I read this, it felt almost as if she could not quite believe that she

had reached this level of spiritual maturity in the eyes of her
Bridegroom. These were the words she had been waiting to hear—

being uttered from His lips. If He was saying it, then it must be true!
She believed Him at His word.
