“If this ‘little sister’ is truly separated and committed unto me,
perfecting holiness in the fear of the Lord, then she can grow up in
maturity and be one of mature Bridal affection. She will be like the
description of the Holy City in Revelation 21. We will lay her
foundations with the presence of the revealed God and His anointing
(the sapphire—a blue stone). We will make her battlements, her place
of defence against the enemy, the precious blood of my passion
(rubies). We will make her gates (ear gate, eye gate, mind gate) clear
and pure as crystal—washed and renewed through the Word of God.
Her entire wall—her life, which she separated unto me—will be built
with the wisdom and knowledge of God (precious stones).”
Let the above words penetrate your heart. Isn’t this what we long for?
I believe with all my heart that now is the time to choose to allow the
Lord to make us single-focused to the exclusion of every other thing
vying for our attention—because a church like this will cause the world
to sit up and see the real Jesus on earth in all of His beauty and majesty.
May God grant us the grace to be willing to pay the cost for such a
glorious, heavenly prize.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 12:1–2 that we are to throw off
everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with
perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the
pioneer and perfecter of our faith. I was very interested to read that
“fixing our eyes” comes from the Greek word aphorao—from apo,
“away from,” and horao, “to see.” This word signifies undivided
