To give students the opportunity to carry out practical operation of the
aerial appliance under assessment conditions

CONTENT TO COVER

Students’ practical aerial operation

Practical operating of aerial to be carried out in rear yard. Drills
are to be marked on the practical assessment form. Provide
feedback to students.

Drill 1

• Appliance by the tower.

• Levelling jack placement to be done manually.

• Head of ladder is to follow the face of the tower from bottom to top
and then down again.

• Appliance to be made up.

Drill 2

• Appliance to be positioned for a rescue from tower.

• Level appliance using the automatic function.

• Appliance to be made up.
