                                                                                        Topic 14: Emergency systems








              Always operate movements in the following order:

              1. Retract the telescope booms first.

              2. Rotate the booms to the transport position.

              3. When the booms are in the middle (direction forward); lower the
                 boom gently onto the transport support.



              Electric hydraulic pump back-up

              Operate battery powered pump, then operate the desired boom
              movements from the control panel. The battery-powered pump is fitted      NOTE
              to provide rotation and boom movements if the main engine fails. Use
              in emergency situations only. Do not use on the booms if they can be
              bled down, only to position the booms for safe bleed down.
                                                                                  Caution: Do not use battery
