Johnson County Rider Spotlight
Ms. Linda A. Miller is a rider who was one of the first to sign up for the MyRide Johnson County program in November of 2018.
When asked how the program has helped her, Ms. Miller responds saying, “Simply put: without the program I would not have the freedom to come and go as I please. I hate to rely on family or friends to take me anywhere because I don’t want to impose on them.”
Ms. Miller uses the program for grocery
shopping, to have her pedicure every two
weeks, to visit the library, and to meet friends
in town. She stated, “I feel so safe with the
volunteers, so I don’t hesitate to use MyRide.
It also saves me money compared with everyone else in town – they can’t even compare.”
Ms. Miller loves the program so well that she has become one of its biggest advertisers: placing posters in the library and other areas to attract attention to it. She is so appreciative of the MyRide program because she voluntarily gave up driving because of health concerns – and the program was released around the same time. She calls it a
“true blessing from God” and wants to thank everyone who is involved in making the MyRide program happen.
