MyRide Northwest TN Rider/Volunteer Spotlight
Rider Geraldine Thomas is a very appreciative person. From the start she was extremely excited to have this program in the area and, for her, the timing could not have been better.
In February 2019, she had a surgery that left her unable to drive for the next several months. She needed the transportation program for six to eight weeks for rides back and forth to physical therapy. Geraldine loved
to update us with her progress and the latest from
her doctor appointments – all while reiterating her gratitude for the program and its wonderful volunteers. She has been on 28 rides to date and states she will continue to ride until she is able to drive again.
MyRide Northwest TN volunteer Gwen Page was one
of the first volunteers that received training in Gibson
County. She enjoys being a part of the program and giving back to the community. To date Gwen has provided 23 rides, most of those being with Mrs. Geraldine.
These two ladies have built a wonderful relationship that seems almost like family. Gwen looks after Mrs. Geraldine like a daughter and they have become very close in a short period of time.
