plan that can be accomplished in the next 12 months. I asked the Leonard family to share their wealth objective. We
filled the answers in the top square of the Gap Analysis.

In the next two to three years, as the Leonard family moved forward in the Wealth Cycle Process, I could already
see what their Freedom Day would include: no job for Mike; a $1 million business; $500,000 of invested assets (that
is, the total assets available and used for investment); $6,250 month in passive income; and no bad debt. They could
achieve this easily within three years.

Question 7: What Skills Do You Use to Make Money?

               “I work for—” Mary said.
But I stopped her. “Whom you work for is interesting, but not helpful, Mary,” I said. “Especially since you’re
leaving there and never going back. I want to know your skills and how you make your money.”
“I’m an administrative assistant,” Mary said. “Organization, basic administration.”
                  “And?”
“And? And, well, I have good communication and computer skills.”
“I’m a mechanic, and I have construction skills,” Mike said. “I’m always fixing our houseboat. I built that shed in
our backyard. I fix and build things, I guess.”
“Like our dune buggies,” said Carey Leonard, the older of the two boys.
“They’re way cool,” his brother, Colin, said.
“Well, yeah,” Mike said. “But I mostly fix air conditioning and refrigeration systems.”
“Tell me about the dune buggies,” I said.
Mike perked up, surprised. Mike, Mary, Carey, and Colin led me to the garage. There were several all-terrain
vehicles that seemed to be collecting dust, but in the back was a custom-built dune buggy.
“People freak over dune buggies, and we’re like the Jesse James of dune buggies,” Colin said, referring to the
owner of West Coast Choppers and star of the Discovery Channel’s Motorcycle Mania.
“We can build ones way sweeter than what I’ve seen on the Internet. And those sell for like $20,000” Carey said.
“At least,” Colin said. “I’ve seen some that are $100,000.”
