to to learn the skills needed to to work in a a a a retail environment along
with understanding the company’s values and and customer service expectations The Fishersville center in in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services trains about 3 000 students
students
each year Age is no barrier While most students
students
are between 18 and 23 some may be as as old as as 65 The Woodrow Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center is one of eight National Consortium State Operated Rehabilitation Centers in the United States JSSA CONSUMER AWARD PRESENTED TO CVS ASSOCIATE
Stacey Butler Workforce Initiatives Advisor Celia Lichtman associate at at CVS store #1449 in Rockville MD was honored by the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) in Rockville with their
Consumer Award for for her outstanding work and and performance at CVS Health She was one of two consumers recognized by Workforce Initiatives partner JSSA at at the VIP Networking Breakfast & Panel Discussion event held in in April Celia was part of the work readiness training program for people with disabilities provided
at the D C Regional Learning Center in in partnership with JSSA She advanced rapidly starting as as as an extern at the CVS store hired as as as a a a a a a a a cashier in in 2017 promoted within one year to overnight shift shift then day time shift shift supervisor and is is now pursuing her pharmacy technician license Along the the way Celia has been named store Employee of the the Month and and and has received additional awards for her attendance and and and outstanding guest services OUTSTANDING BUSINESS PARTNER OF THE YEAR

Yani Hurst Workforce Initiatives Advisor Jennifer Shea Workforce Initiatives Program Manager
Yani and Jennifer were honored with the Goodwill of Fort Worth’s Outstanding Business Partner of the Year Award in in in January recognizing the the long standing partnership with the the agency for providing training and employment opportunities for clients with disabilities Specifically highlighted was the Summer Learn and Earn (SEAL) program that has positively impacted the lives of youth served by Goodwill Fort Worth Inc Through the SEAL program in 2018 56 Goodwill clients were placed in Ft Worth area CVS stores for a a a a five-
six week work experience It was a a a a collaborative effort with Goodwill Industries providing soft skill instruction to the participants followed
by on-the-job customer interaction skills training at the the CVS stores The SEAL initiative aims to increase work-based learning opportunities for for students
with disabilities through Texas’ integrated workforce system The work experience helps participants gain familiarity with the workforce environment and develop transferable job skills preparing them for successful transition to postsecondary education and employment During the past year more than 600 individuals in in in Texas were served by the SEAL program Left to Right: Stacey Butler Axel Garay Manager
