At what point does intuition provide direction?
“If I’m a little bit there and the voice says this is right, I’ll take that course of action.”
More on intuition and where it comes from
“I believe that all men have the light of Christ. It is given to us when we are born. It is the way the Deity keeps in touch with us and it is manifested through our conscience and it is the way the Lord invites us all to come under Christ and plant seeds in our heart. It’s the power of the spirit that helps us to do things.
“Why did Columbus discover America or how were the settlers able to frame the constitution? They had the prompting of the light of Christ who helped them accept what is right and also had that thing in their heart that invited them to do the right things.”
How do you apply your beliefs and intuition?
“I applied my beliefs to things in the secular, the mortal world and I realized there are different parameters and different things that have to come about whether it be sensing, intuition or deliberate analysis of a course of action.
“It is all premised upon doing the best that I can and then, in prayer, asking for help.
“I can’t say ‘slay all these dragons,’ but what I can say is ‘I’ve done the best I can, help me protect my soldiers.’ Then I get the answer.”
Paying attention to the signals
Jim describes his intuitive input as receiving information in all three of the ways described earlier – seeing, hearing, feeling.
“I have to do my homework first. If I’m doing the right things, the answer will come. I’ve gotten input that I’ve ignored and regretted it.
“I learned early on to listen to that still, small voice that knows the way.”
