Many people meditate daily to open their minds for receiving intuitive direction. I asked Jim if he prayed or meditated daily.
“Every day. In a way, I pray throughout the day. I know when I need help. Without exception, I pray that I have done everything in my power to form the right decision. And then I listen. It can be just two seconds, but I get the answer.”
What about the external signs of intuitive input? Are the things that happen outside your internal awareness? What is the role of these synchronistic events?
“Synchronicity, to me, is synonymous with being able to listen to your intuition. It allows you to be the witness, the revelator. The response doesn’t have to be in this still voice that tells me to move soldiers.
“It could be a dream the night before that gives me a solution. It is just another form to be able to hear and act on your intuition.”
After working with and interviewing Jim King as well as many other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, I have some thoughts:
Mormons have very strong beliefs and also seem to have a better handle as a group than most on being able to seek direction from the leader within, however that is defined.
The only other group of people interviewed that matched that use of their leader within were entrepreneurs.
I could have easily profiled four additional Mormons in this chapter. Their commitment to their principles, church, family, values and lifestyle, in my opinion, is without peer among today’s traditional and not so traditional religions.
One of the Mormons interviewed put it very simply: “My role in life is to imitate Christ in all that I am and all that I do.”
Interestingly, Jesus did have incredible intuitive ability, among other things. He obviously knew how to ask God for the answers.
