By bringing the anger and the pain into the light, that subversive energy is diffused and life becomes lighter and more joyful.
That’s why some people are seen as “needy.” The function of intimacy is to make us more open and receptive to others, as well as to enable us to connect at a deeper level with ourselves and our intuition.
I was part of a very intimate group that met once a month. I traveled seven hours each way for a two-day process. However, all that travel is a small price to pay for the intimacy of joining with others and with myself in the process.
Perception is Reality
I’ll never forget a message delivered by a guest speaker at our church. He asked for four women and four men to volunteer to come up on the stage.
He gave the first man a sign that simply said, “I am.” This sign was meant represent the man as he is at his core level — the person his God meant him to be.
The next sign included the words, “Who I think I am;” the third man’s sign said, “Who I pretend to be;” And the fourth man’s sign was, “Who I think you are.”
