Processing Functions
Thinking categorizes information from a logical perspective — A + B = C. People who focus on their thinking function will use logic to process information.
They will also tend to take a more detached view than one who considers that value or feelings as a primary processing function.
Such people are good at reaching logical conclusions from the information provided — even if that information comes from their intuition. A thinking person will give purpose to the glass.
Feeling, in this definition, is the opposite of thinking. It does not necessarily mean emotion, but rather a personal valuing of the information. In that regard a feeling-focused person might notice and appreciate the clarity of the glass and the beauty of the shape.
Those who are focused on their feeling function tend to be people-oriented, and more aware of other people’s feelings
