• If fundal height is greater than expected suspect a hydatidiform
mole .
• Determine gestational age by estimated date delivery. (EDD)
• Tenderness in adnexa .
• Lower abdominal pain (right or left side).
• Blood pressure, pulse and respiration (vital signs)
Signs of shock :
• Increased pulse rate Decreased blood pressure.
• Increased respiration Cold clammy skin, pallor.
• Restlessness Decreased urinary output .
• Decreased level of consciousness.
Laboratory data :
• Complete blood Rh factor .
• Hemoglobin, hematocrit.
• Laboratory screening for coagulation defect
Ultrasound to determine:
• Cause of bleeding Ectopic pregnancy .
• Threatened abortion Incomplete abortion.
• Hydatidiform mole Gestational age .
• Placental aging
Fetus assessment:
• Heart rate is taken with stethoscope or electronic monitor .
• Ultrasound test is done for possible growth retardation.
