  Longleaf Elementary
Longleaf Elementary’s chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society hosted a school talent show to raise money for Promise in West Melbourne. Promise provides a housing option and opportunities for young adults with special needs. NEHS students and Longleaf teachers volunteered their time to assist with auditions, backstage
needs, ticket and concessions sales, program distribution, and greeting families as they arrived. Longleaf students were able to share their talents such as dancing, singing, magic tricks and instrument playing. Between the admission fee and concession stand sales, $1,000
was raised.
Longleaf Elementary organized talent show fundraiser for adults with special needs.
Award-winning Art Teachers
Five district art teachers were selected as recipients of the Nancy Baur Dillen Art Teacher Scholarship through the Community Foundation for Brevard. The scholarship provides funding for one-week workshops of each teacher’s choice
at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, during the summer of 2018. The scholarship was created to provide BPS art teachers with the opportunity to share, develop and grow as artists and as educators.
