Even though they’re not related,
or live near each other, green tree pythons look and act a lot like
emerald tree boas. These snakes are so oddly similar that scientists have a name for this situation: parallel evolution. This happens when two different animal groups in different places evolve to look and act alike. In the case of these two snakes, scientists think this happened because they both live in tropical rain forests, and they live up in the trees.
