important 44 national ConferenCe update
th
from Ken stein and the lhat staff
We hope you are doing as well as can be expected. We wanted to let you know that the
LHAT Board met by Zoom call for our quarterly board meeting in April. At that time, we made
the exceedingly difficult decision to move the 44th National Conference in Cleveland to an
online virtual event. There were just too many unknowns to continue planning for something
taking place in a physical space this summer. Our hope is to get to Cleveland in 2021.
We are profoundly grateful to our National Partners and 2020 sponsors for their incredible,
ongoing dedication to this important program, and their commitment to help us build a
new platform through which we can engage our community through sharing experiences,
creating new connections, combating the physical isolation of our current reality, and
strategizing for the future of our industry in uncertain times. Their efforts and support will not
be forgotten as we move forward.
We are still researching the many available options related to hosting a virtual conference,
but our main goal is to try to mimic all of the best parts of our in-person conference, including
education, networking and even a Ramble and Expo. We will keep you informed as we
develop further details about the event, including dates and times, formats, and specific
offerings.
Throughout May and June, we are planning to bring us together in innovative ways that
capture the spirit of community that has always made our national conference so special.
Look for additional information coming soon. Count on this being a conference that is
uniquely LHAT: one filled not only with incredible insight, but also with laughter, joy and even
some tears. We would expect nothing less from our incredible members. (If we could find a
way to serve drinks through an app, we would do that too!)
