The first two days of the festival will be celebrated at the local level, while
Maharashtra tourism department will be conducting various cultural, historical
and other recreational activities from 20th onwards, to attract tourists from
domestic and international markets. Through this festival, Maharashtra Tourism
will offer the tourists an exquisite experience of Maharashtra’s forts, culture,
cuisine, art & architecture, history of Shivaji Maharaj thereby spreading the
message of safeguarding our architectural heritage.
Some interesting activities such as Light and sound show depicting various epics
from the Maratha period, Coffee date with historians, cultural plays like Janta
Raja, art and craft workshop for children, pictorial museum with audio guide to
explain the history of Shivneri fort for the tourists.

TOURISM CIRCUITS IN MAHARASHTRA

DIAMOND CIRCUIT

‘Diamond Quadrilateral’ circuit incorporating
Pune- Mumbai- Nashik- Aurangabad has been
created and will be widely promoted by the tour
operators. This circuit was launched at WTM
London. As these cities incorporate innumerable
tourist spots and provide breath-taking
experience of wildlife tourism, wine tourism, agro- tourism, exquisite beaches,
cuisine etc. Maharashtra Tourism has created this circuit. These cities are very
well connected with their own operational airport, elongated National
Highways, and railway networks which enhance the travel experience and serve
the purpose of international tourists.

BHARAT RATNA DR. BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR TOUR CIRCUIT

The land of Maharashtra has a rich Buddhist heritage and culture and with a view
to publicize the Buddhist destinations in Maharashtra, Maharashtra Tourism
created ‘Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar tour circuit’ in 6 regions namely
Mumbai, Kokan, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad and Nagpur. As Dr. Babasaheb
Ambedkar’s birth anniversary will be celebrated on 6th December, the plan is to
launch Mumbai Buddhist circuit tour from 26th November, 2022.
