The Communications Department finalized and distributed the April 2020 newsletter to
stakeholders on both digital and print formats. This newsletter included updated information, in
light of the COVID-19 pandemic, as it relates to end-of-year events and activities, the closure of
Rich East High School, and instructional, athletic, and program changes for the 2020-21 school
year. The Communications Department provided all written content and photographs for this
newsletter. In collaboration with Global 360 Marketing, the Communications Department finalized
the layout and design work and distributed the content on both digital and print platforms. Content
mapping for the May 2020 newsletter also followed the completion of the April 2020 newsletter.
The Department continues to collaborate with the Business Office and Educational Services Office
to include the most up-to-date information in the Transition Guide for our feeder schools, as new
information and limitations concerning COVID-19 are announced on a daily basis, which could
affect critical dates included in the document. The Communications Department is working closely
with Global 360 Marketing to finalize layout and design work for the Transition Guide.
Staying connected with families during the isolation due to the COVID-19 crisis remains the top
priority of the Communications Department. As Illinois’ stay-at-home order extended through April
30, the Communications Department continued to collaborate with the Educational Services,
Business Office, and Human Resources Department to distribute several emails, robocalls, text
messages, and social media posts to notify families, staff and other stakeholders of district changes
related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Emails were sent to stakeholders with information regarding
remote learning, food service, device distribution, athletics, payroll, staff campus assignments,
personal item retrieval, end-of-year events and activities updates, and best practices to stay
protected in this time of crisis as it relates to cybersecurity.
In partnership with the Superintendent’s Office and Global 360 Marketing, the Communications
Department produced two video updates to stakeholders that effectively disseminated the messages
outlined in the District’s weekly emails to families, staff, and the community. The video published
on April 10 was co-produced by the Communications Department and Global 360 Marketing and
edited by Global 360 Marketing. The videos published on April 21 was produced and edited by the
Communications Department. These videos covered topics including, but not limited to, end-of-
year ceremonies, personal item retrieval, academic expectations, important dates, and other relevant
information. The Communications Department will continue produce and distribute video messages
on weekly basis, in conjunction with weekly emails that are distributed to our stakeholders.
In May 2020, the Communications Department will work closely with Global 360 Marketing to
execute the quarterly/May 2020 newsletter, Transition Guide, outline detailed plans for the Class of
2020 graduation, begin drafting a district marketing booklet and continue to communicate to all
families the District’s upcoming changes as it relates to COVID-19 and the consolidation of Rich
Township High Schools.
