Educational Services
Director of Student Support Services
Various meetings were facilitated with various departments under the umbrella of Student Support
Services throughout the month.
Student Support Services
In collaboration with Advocate Health brought a physical and flu clinic to the district to assist families
with getting no cost physicals and flu shots for students. The upcoming date for physicals will be
1/26/21.
Participated and facilitated Data Conversations with the campus administration teams.
In collaboration with ISC4 and the legal team, working with a family that may be accessing district
resources although they did not live within the district’s boundaries or qualify for McKinney Vento.
Working in collaboration with Hartgrove Behavioral Health to provide on campus as well as hospital-
based services to students. On January 4, 2021, Hargrove will conduct an orientation with our SEL
team regarding the referral process for these services.
COVID- Submitted a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) Certificate of Waiver ,
which would allow the district to legally examine a person through waived tests in order to assess
health and determine risk for exposure or spread of COVID-19. As a component of pending approval,
I have also conducted the following tasks:
Worked with Maxim Healthcare to identify staff that would assist with the laboratory work
required for testing.
Worked with several vendors to identify the costs of both nasal and saliva based tests
Identified trainings required for nursing staff
Working to identify biohazard waste vendors for medwaste disposal
Working with the Operations team on identifying a space where testing will occur and be
processed
Working with the legal team regarding potential pitfalls and legal issues
Working with Cook County Public Health and Illinois Department of Public Health on
reporting processes and requirements
In collaboration with the Instructional Leadership Team, worked with counselors to design course
selection for the 2021-2022 school year. Course selection will commence on January 15, 2021
Special Education
Worked in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent to collaborate with Public Consulting
Group (PCG) to design co-teaching professional development for all co-teachers across the district.
There were over 60 participants for our December training that was focused on Curriculum,
Instruction, Assessment, and Supports.
Attended and represented the District at the SPEED District Representative meeting.
